Lions Fun Day for the Disabled
The sun shone on local Lions and their 500 guests in early August when they organised their annual Summer Funfest at Yateley Manor School. It was a fun packed day for people with disabilities, their families and helpers

Eighty Lions and volunteers from Lions Clubs in Farnborough, Aldershot, Fleet, Hart, Hook & Odiham and Loddon Valley ran the event by contributing costs so it was free for their guests.
There was music, dancing and fun, for people of all ages and abilities with bouncy castles, giant slides, roundabouts, steam trains and lots of Lions sideshows as well as the Lions BBQ.
Attendees came from the local area and as far afield as - Winchester, Woking, Staines, Reading, West Byfleet, Sunbury, Ashford (Middlesex), Newbury, Bracknell, Shepperton, Alton, Chertsey and Elstree. They all had a great time letting the the Lions know on the day and on social media. One said “It can be difficult going out to crowded places and it’s not easy all going out together, so the Funfest is brilliant.”
Chairman of the organising team David Styler said “It has been a very difficult year for everyone, so we were so pleased to be able to hold the Lions Funfest event this year.
Just to see the smiles on the children's faces shows how much this day was needed by these wonderful families.”
