About Lions

Farnborough Lions is the local branch of Lions Clubs International, the largest service organisation in the world. Founded in Chicago in 1917 it has now spread to every continent, with 1.4 million members in clubs in 207 countries and geographic areas.

The aim of Lions is to help those less fortunate than ourselves. We do this with a mixture of practical help to individuals and organisations, giving financial assistance as appropriate and working with other organisations within the community and further afield.

Farnborough Lions have worked within the Rushmoor area for the past 40 years and we take part regularly in events and activities in the south of England as well as helping with aide to national and global incidents. Further details are available on this website. by clicking the subject tabs at the top of this page.

To finance our work, we hold regular fund raising activities. Every penny raised goes directly to our Welfare account; the cost of administration is borne entirely by the members.

Above all we enjoy ourselves with these activities. As part of that we hold regular social get together's with our wives, husbands and families.

Membership is open to everyone over the age of 25, with no upper age limit or discrimination as to gender, race or religious beliefs. Younger members have their own clubs called Leos Clubs.
